Our goal at Leadsie:
Make client onboarding a two-click breeze.
But we always want to know if we could be doing better. And who better to ask than our customers?
So we sat down with Jake Gibson, Head of Operations at Ecommerce Equation, to find out his thoughts on Leadsie after onboarding 4,000+ clients through the platform.
(Spoiler alert: Glowing reviews ahead! 😇)
Who is Ecommerce Equation? 🤔
Ecommerce Equation is a coaching program with a team of just under 50 and a member community over 2,000 strong.
They offer business coaching for ecommerce founders who want to scale their marketing, operational logistics, demand planning, and more.
And their system works. Their coaches and community have helped multiple clients reach $1M+ in revenue for the first time. (Pretty awesome, right?)
Let’s let Jake explain in his own words how they empower teams to achieve results like these.
Long ago, in a land without Leadsie… 😢
Growing revenue by 10x in less than 3 months is just one example of the kind of impact Ecommerce Equation has on its members.
There’s just one little hurdle they have to overcome before they can deliver that insane value: Getting coaches the right access to clients’ accounts.
Prior to Leadsie, that involved manually sending ad account requests, then frequently getting access to some—but not all—assets, then going through the back-and-forths with the client to correct it.
That was all well and good when they were onboarding 1 or 2 new members a week. But when their volume began to skyrocket, that’s when the “instant pain point” struck, like a viper, out of nowhere.
“It was an instant pain point when we moved to onboarding 5-10 clients a week, and so on and so forth. It was becoming a very labor intensive thing.”
Worse still, it meant they lacked the visibility they needed to coach members effectively from day one.
It’s Jake’s job to make sure that onboarding, project management, and member communications run smoothly to move the needle forward. So for him, this bottleneck was something that had to be eliminated YESTERDAY to keep up with the pace of the program's growth.
Thankfully, Leadsie changed all of that.
“It was a no-brainer that Leadsie was going to become a big part of the day-to-day for us. And has been for the last couple of years now. And we just wouldn't have it any other way.”
Enter: Two-Click Access Management 💪
Overnight, they went from a lean team struggling with access bottlenecks to a breezy, automated onboarding process (made possible with a Leadsie access link!)
Now, all coaches can access the right account assets they need to do their work.
Jake told us that, for his team, this means:
1. Better results for clients. From their first coaching call, coaches get insights into all client data across accounts. So instead of generic advice, members get specific strategies to action.
They’ve also expanded the types of assistance they give their members as Leadsie has added more access integrations, such as Google, TikTok, and Shopify.
“It's just been strength to strength for us.”
2. More volume? No problem. Larger client intakes were draining resources and limiting their capacity to scale. Jake and his team are now free to ramp up client acquisition, worry-free.
“From the initial sign up, all the way through to that first coaching call, the way that [Leadsie] was able to connect that for us was just very simplified and efficient.”
3. Scaling, simplified. As they grew to 50 employees, a simplified onboarding process meant less training required and more time for their team to coach members.
“...One of the best decisions we've made because it has saved hours—thousands of hours—of time at this point."
So, what are Jake’s thoughts on making the switch to Leadsie?
“I can say that it's definitely been the most seamless way that we could have done it.”
But wait—what do your clients think?! 💭
Things can be a little trickier from the client side, though.
Ecommerce Equation is a done-with-you coaching model, so a big part of their work is empowering members to run their own ad accounts. As such, they encounter a wide range of technical skill levels.
So how have their less tech-savvy clients fared when it comes to granting access using Leadsie?
Jake says that none of Ecommerce Equation’s clients have ever told them, “Oh, this is really hard.”
Some may not have set up ad accounts previously, for example, but once they’ve conquered that step, he can’t recall ever receiving a question about how to use Leadsie itself.
“It is a very user-friendly way of onboarding clients or members… I don't hear of any issues, which is a very nice thing for me.”
Compare that to the drudgery of access request back-and-forths before Leadsie, and it’s no wonder they’ve never looked back.
Oh, and one more thing… 🤫
Jake mentioned something else he loves about working with Leadsie during our chat:
Our stellar customer support.
Now, we didn’t have a question ready about how our customer success team performs. But the best feedback we get in an interview like this is the kind we don’t ask for.
And this was some truly out-of-this-world feedback.
Ecommerce Equation wanted us to know that they really value the fact that, whenever they have a question internally—whether it’s how to optimize for different markets or customize integrations —Leadsie always handles it with a high level of care.
“We like to think that we would handle our internal sort of communications the same way… It's just been such an amazing experience from the moment we started all the way through to where we sit today.”
Jake says this speaks volumes about the true quality of a partner in business.
(For the record, we feel the same way about you guys! ♥️)
What about red flags? 🚩
That all sounds great so far. But before we get all carried away… Maybe it’s TOO great?
Surely there must have been some roadblocks along the route to adopting Leadsie?
Well, for Jake and his team, the biggest concern was security.
How could they assure their clients that a third-party access request link was legit? We’re talking Google, TikTok, and Meta—a lot of sensitive information, and responsible for a lot of their success.
(i.e., The last thing a business would want compromised, ever.)
But after doing their due diligence and running a trial within their team, Ecommerce Equation was sure that Leadsie was the right fit.
“We're very confident that it is a secure way of being able to get our members to connect their assets and data.”
If you’re thinking of trying Leadsie… 😏
Jake’s advice? Just go for it.
“[At the] bare minimum, just give it a go. And I'm sure you'll be happy with the results.”
We swear we didn’t tell him to say any of that! (But we might hire him for our sales team. 😍)
Take Jake’s advice —give it a go! 😁
